In industrial projects, we aim to locate the biogas plant on the energy user’s premises or in its immediate vicinity. This minimizes emissions from energy transport and ensures that the client’s raw material is processed while still fresh. In some cases, we also utilize heat energy from industrial processes in biogas production.

Innovation is at the core concept in Gas1 operations. The energy sector is constantly changing, and long-term power purchase agreements are not always available – but the need for energy never disappears. Our innovative solutions make projects more profitable and ensure their success amid future market shifts.

For us, responsibility is not just a word – it’s a guiding principle. In the food industry, it is particularly important to process livestock manure in biogas plants. In many of our projects, economic viability is based on the digestion of agricultural fractions – we seek local solutions that strengthen the circular economy.

Biogas is a responsibly produced form of renewable energy. In biogas plants, organic matter decomposes in a controlled process, and the released methane is captured with high efficiency. Using biomethane as a replacement for fossil fuels is not only carbon neutral but can even be carbon negative.

Our solutions must be both economically and commercially viable. Experience has shown that investments only happen when backed by strong business fundamentals. The fossil economy is rapidly giving way to the green transition, and many projects that were once unprofitable can now be realized thanks to new incentives.

We begin every project by listening to our client’s needs – and finish only when we deliver a complete turnkey solution. For example, the Hartwall biogas plant was realized this way: we designed the plant, built the interface between the brewery and the biogas facility, purified the gas, and directed it to the steam boilers. We also solved digestate handling and other key project challenges.
